About OHSAM
- Ohio Society of Addiction Medicine is a group of addiction specialists and other providers focused on caring for patients with substance use disorder. OHSAM is a chapter of ASAM, founded in 1954, which is a professional society representing over 4,300 physicians, clinicians and associated professionals in the field of addiction medicine. OHSAM is dedicated to increasing access and improving the quality of addiction treatment, educating physicians and the public, supporting research and prevention, and promoting the appropriate role of physicians in the care of patients with addiction.

THE CHALLENGE
OHSAM needed a website that would be user friendly and could accommodate an event management system for their annual meeting. The existing site was outdated and contained numerous links to other sites and many of those links were broken. OHSAM wanted something that would keep the user on their site and provide all of the information in a format that was easy to navigate.
THE SOLUTION
We created a responsive website using WordPress that incorporated an event management system; making it easy for the attendees to register and pay online via CC or PayPal. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, OHSAM had to change their in-person meeting to a virtual webinar. Our team was able to quickly get them set up so that the website could accommodate video education sessions so that those looking to get credits towards certification could watch on-demand and fill out a form to receive their certificate. We also set up and area where companies could host virtual exhibits. The new sites user interface is now designed to keep the visitor focused on the content.
