Company Naming and Brand Creation

Sunstone, a new recovery housing project, approached us with the challenge of establishing their brand identity from scratch. Our task was to develop a name that resonated with their mission of providing supportive and safe housing for individuals in recovery. Additionally, we needed to create a comprehensive brand identity that included designing a logo, developing a website, and defining a cohesive color scheme that reflected their values and appealed to their target audience.

THE SOLUTION

Naming and Brand Development

We conducted extensive research and brainstorming sessions to develop the name “Sunstone,” symbolizing strength, healing, and resilience—core values of the recovery community. This name resonated deeply with the client and aligned perfectly with their mission.

Logo Design

We crafted a logo for Sunstone that incorporated elements symbolizing growth, support, and community. The design was clean, modern, and easily recognizable, reflecting the warmth and hopefulness associated with recovery.

Website Development

To establish Sunstone’s online presence, we designed and developed a user-friendly website. The WordPress website features a donation portal to facilitate contributions and provides residents with a secure platform to pay their housing fees online. It was designed to be informative and welcoming, offering details about their housing services, testimonials, and resources for potential residents and their families. The site features intuitive navigation and responsive design to ensure accessibility across all devices.

Tagline Development

We crafted a tagline, “Direction, Support and Independence,” encapsulating Sunstone’s mission to empower individuals through supportive housing and facilitate their journey towards recovery.

Color Palette and Visual Identity

We created a color palette that included warm tones symbolizing hope, strength, and positivity. This palette was applied consistently across all branding materials, including the website, logo, and promotional materials, to maintain brand coherence and reinforce Sunstone’s values.

The impact of our work is underscored by key findings from Sunstone’s operations:

  • Residents: 93 residents arrived at Sunstone in the first year.
  • Rental Assistance: 98% of residents required rental assistance for 30 days or more, with 90-day rental assistance directly correlating with individual success.
  • Operational Challenges: Lack of operational funding is the primary reason for a shortage of recovery housing beds. Capital funding without a substantial increase in operational funding is deemed futile.
  • Occupancy: The maximum occupancy rate reached 72%, with Sunstone never instituting a waitlist, highlighting their ability to meet community needs effectively.

These findings demonstrate the direct impact of our branding and digital solutions on Sunstone’s ability to serve the recovery community effectively and efficiently. The website’s functionalities, including the donation portal and online housing fee payment system, further enhance Sunstone’s accessibility and operational efficiency, supporting their mission of empowering individuals in their recovery journey.
